New Yob
Two weeks ago I started a new job at the American Club. I am in the banquet setup department and it entails exactly what it sounds like. Which is a lot of physical labor, but I enjoy it and the people I work with are kickass and the pay isn't too bad either. I attained this job in a wopping three weeks of searching, applying, and being interviewed. It's only a seasonal job but I'm working another job as well and will probably be working around fifty hours a week. This is all good news because my car just died this morning on the way to work.

NBA playoff comeback
I just watched a 27 point comeback in a NBA PLAYOFF basketball game, while in the fourth quarter! Comebacks like those should not happen, but it is the playoffs and you have to earn every win. The LA Clippers were playing against the Memphis Grizzlies in Memphis. The Griz went on a tear in the first half and were up by 30 points at one time in the game. That is also rare to see but they could do no wrong and then the 3rd quarter came around and the Grizzly momentum continued. they were up by 26 points at the begining of the fourth. But they took their lead for granted and took their foot off the gas and paid for it by playing defensive instead of finishing the game strong. So the Clippers won 99-98 and share the largest comeback victory in any playoff game by going on a 26 to 1 point run in the fourth quarter. The city of Memphis will NOT sleep soundly tonight.

Too much fun
The weather was good and I was bored. Frisbee golf is my solution to a uneventful day. I'm playing with a buddy of mine and we're on the fourteenth basket. I'm in my stance to drive the frisbee about two-hundred feet. By the end of my throw the blue frisbee had left my hand and was on its way to the metal basket, when I looked down and saw a ten inch rip in the front of my three day old jeans. I couldn't believe it, it was the third pair of jeans I've ripped in three months. I've decided to wear sweat pants on almost every occasion. Also the combination of macdons and tbell did not account for a positive outcome following the three hour frolfing session. I also ended up losing the last game after ripping my pants by one throw. I returned home and havnt left my basement since.

No energy
This past Saturday I awoke from a text saying, "stin the suns out and its time to play ball, head to rochester park". So I collected my gear and headed off to rochester park. It's 10:30am and the sun is already beaming down. Its at least 65 degrees out and I brought along plenty of water. After we had played a few games a few people had to leave so I left to another park in order to fulfill my need to play basketball. Its 12:45pm at this point and I'm headed to my third basketball court park of the day. Im hungry and have not eaten breakfast or lunch. I'm now playing 3 on 3 in a park in kohler. My team never lost but I can feel my skin slowly getting burnt from all the sun. 2 hours later I leave the kohler park with the intention to go home for a couple hours nap before work. I was incorrect I gota call to play at another park at sheb. falls. I went, now being physically drained and the sun hotter then ever that day. We played the game 21 and somehow I found a way to win that as well. Its 4:30pm and I have work in 30mins. No time to shower and no time to nap and I am physcially drained and burnt. I went to work, nothing to exciting. Then I went out that same night with no shower. I slept until 3pm today and am still tired.

Too much easter
It's Easter morning, I roll off the couch and before I know it I'm showering in preparation for church and brunch at Margaux. My family and I do basically the same thing every year and after brunch we'll go in the backyard and take pictures for my mom. Now what I didn't have planned was going on a 60 egg hunt and finding 40 of them but not being able to find 1 of my 3 baskets today. I never got a basket from the 'easter bunny' this year or for the past 5 years for that matter but I spend so much time at 3 other homes, I'm included in on the festivities. It took me 29 minutes to find one of my easter baskets today. Never thought I'd be warn out from doing so little. But I eventually did and followed by eating all the candy in the basket, thinking this would show my dominance over the basket. I was sorely mistaken, I returned home 15 minutes after finding my basket and started throwing up bits and pieces of chocolate rabbit. An hour after I was done, I thought it'd be smart to eat yet another chocolate rabbit. The consequences are still in order even 5 hours following the poor choice. I will not be involved in any candy or dessert for the awhile. Hope your easter turned out more refreshing then mine.

Thinkin about gettin a new job
This past week was spring break. Alot of people go away on vacation and some people stay home. I was a person who stayed home and instead of thinking that it was an actual vacation time I applied for many jobs around the area that had to do with golf coarses. Now I'm not one to enjoy a game of golf or suggest to play a round or two but when I heard the amount of tips one can make in a week sounded like a good summer job to me. And within 3 days of applying I found a job at Black Wolf Run which is close to home and I know some of the current employees and on Monday I have an interview. I like to work, which is a good thing to like I hear because I'll be working for a long time. And hopefully having 2 jobs this summer will keep me busy enough.

Stuck
It was the first summer I got to drive. I was 16 and had a Ford Explorer at my finger tips. My friends and I got the good idea to go off roading on some abandoned property. Turns out that the 4x4 wasnt working and I got stuck in 3 feet of pure mud. A VERY long story short we went through shovels and verious methods of traction to escape when I finally got the idea that we had to start calling people to get my truck out. And all looked good until the second truck got stuck in the process. Finally I called my buddy who owns a F-250 duelly diesel that did the trick to get us out after 7 hours of being stuck and not telling our parents what really happened. While mine eventually found out by the 20lbs of mud that had fallen off the bottom of the truck that I couldn't see to clean. Moral of the story I should've just gone faster through the mud.

first injury in a long while
Last Thursday was my intramural basketball team's first playoff game. We have a regular season record of 2wins and 4 losses. Not a promising record but we knew we were better than that and showed we were by winning our first playoff game. What happened within that game however is what has affected my mobility the past few days. It was roughly 15 seconds into the game when I jumped to grab a rebound and was quick to find myself in immediate pain and on the gym floor clutching my ankle. I yelled for someone to sub themselves into the game for me as I rolled myself off the court. I hobbled over to our bench to decide what I should do. The score keeper asked if I needed ice, I replied no and thought I could just wait it out. I didn't play the first of the 1st half and decided, I could tie my toe tighter and that it would ease some of the pain and swelling. It worked and I played a majority of the second half. We won and I was happy about that but what I didn't know at the time is that I only made the injury worse and prolonged my recovery. An hour later I was iceing my ankle and keeping it elevated I decided I wanted to get a coke, but what I soon found out was that I could put zero weight on my foot and needed crutches. The next day and a half I manuvuered via crutches. Not a big fan. As the weekend progressed I got use to the ankle brace and started taking alot of advil to forget about it. The swelling has gone down substancially and it was begun to drain and bruise. And hopefully I'll be able to play basketball again in the second round of playoffs on tuesday.

the lost wallet
I have owned only one wallet in my time and it is a sterdy leather wallet, that makes elder wallets proud and velcro wallets jealous. Enough about my wallets personality. It was a snowy day, just like this past Friday (hint it was this past Friday) when I was driving to my buddies house. I was getting out of my car and decided to run to the door because it was cold and I didn't have a jacket. I went inside sat down had some chips, time had past and we left to another one of my buddies houses. And we basically moved to different houses throughout the night UNTIL we got the urge for some T-bell. So I'm driving to T-bell and I'm just about to give my order when I reach for my wallet (because the amount of food I order all depends on how much ching I got on me). That's when I discovered the absense of my wallet! So guess what my friends and I ended up doing for an hour and a half?! That's correct retracing my steps for my wallet and just take a guess at which house it was at...yeah the very first house, the one I HAAAAD too run at because I was cold. So moral of the story if it's cold outside don't forget your jacket!

Working out
I have begun to work out regularly at planet fitness with a few of my friends. It's been 14 months since I've last gone to the gym and I'm happy that I've gotten back into it. I knew at first I was going to be sore but as long as I take my protein and stretch the soreness will subside. And I know this is apart of working out but I never use to do cardio and now before I even touch a weight I run at least 2 miles to warm myself up. The motivation that I give myself and my friends is really important to me because it makes me not only motivated to work out but also to get motivated with everything else I do with my days. I was asked today by a friend what I wanted to do with my life and I said besides getting a degree I have no idea and she said I should be a personal trainer. I laughed and asked if she was serious. She was and I've been thinking about it ever since. So maybe in a few years I'll be motivating complete strangers and try and help them be motivated in their everyday lives.

glad im not that guy
Seemed to be a normal week until the weekend came along. I knew that it was gonna happen, that's what weekends do they end the week. But it's what happened this specific weekend that will alter my buddies weekends for the rest of his high school "career". I first got the call from his mother last night while I was watching a movie. She seemed mad at me at first but after an explanation she cooled down. My friend (that is in trouble) is my other friends brother and thats how i know the mother so well cas of the fact that Im friends with both of her sons. It turns out the younger brother decided to take part with some boozin while on a weekend (away) tournament for basketball. One thing led to another and he ended up over doing it while at a hotel they were staying at. He could barely stand and was causing a problem with every flail he had. After a while the coaches got suspicious and did what they had to do. Sat him down asked him what he did, who else was with him, and is there any left? The coaches didnt get their answers easily but in the end got what they wanted. The tournament was ended on a bad note and with living in a small community, word travels fast and there has already been a meeting with the players parents who were and weren't involved. Suspensions from games are in order and other various punishments from parents have been made. Now Im not saying by any means that ive never done something stupid (ive probably done more stupid then smart), but ive never been caught, which is a bad way to live life because the things you do when no one is watching is what defines you as a person, but in the instance that it was a school event anyone would rather have to deal with their own conscience rather then their coaches, teachers, parents, and friends finding out what they did. And what Ive learned throughout my run at life is that there's a time and a place for everything and if these friends of mine woulda just asked me what I thought about the idea they wouldn't be grounded and suspended. Stupid is what stupid does and hopefully they've learned from their mistakes because most importantly at the end of the day I dont want to get a phone call from an angry parent that isnt mine!
